About

A second-generation gear and manufacturing facility with locations in Anderson, Missouri, and Grove, Oklahoma, specializing in precision-grade machining for OEMs across the country.

Our Story

Cooper Gear started with decades of gear-making expertise. Jim Cooper spent years running the gear division at Teledyne in Neosho, Missouri, where the shop manufactured and repaired aerospace and military engines.

In 1994, he and his wife, Naomi, opened Cooper Gear & Manufacturing in Anderson, Missouri.

More than 30 years later, Cooper Gear is still a family business, now in its second generation. Their son, Derek “Shawn” Cooper, leads the company alongside his wife Mendi, Secretary/Treasurer and Controller. Under Shawn’s leadership, Cooper Gear has grown into a two-facility operation with headquarters in Anderson, Missouri and a second location in Grove, Oklahoma.

Shawn Cooper, President and CEO, has spent the last 20 years dedicating his career to the CNC craft. His motto, “Blood, Sweat and Gears,” goes beyond words. Our commitment to on-time delivery comes from Shawn’s “Total Ownership” ideology, the belief that every person in the shop takes personal responsibility for every part that leaves our floor.

Two Facilities, One Standard

Our Anderson, Missouri headquarters houses our CNC turning, milling, gear cutting, and broaching operations. Our Grove, Oklahoma facility expands our capacity across turning, milling, gear shaping, honing, grinding, and welding.

Both facilities operate under the same ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system, so no matter which floor your part comes off of, it meets the same specification.
